Since taste testing Cake Pops for the upcoming launch of another ModelCo beauty innovation, we’re looking for any excuse to eat cake. So we’ve found out that this month holds the birthday of some big names that have revolutionised the music, film, fashion, arts and social media industry. Sydney is in a fashion frenzy this week with the Overseas Passenger Terminal and its surrounds hosting Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA). We’ve been transfixed by the pastels at Zimmermann and the creative edge at Ksubi but what we’ve really been taking close note of is the makeup. With the first couple of days down, we have seen fresh faces with a touch of glow, thick and defined eyebrows accentuating natural beauty and smokey eye variations. Some of Australia’s best and biggest fashion names, including Gail Sorronda, Ksubi and Manning Cartell have been adaptors of these looks but the exception to the rule was the quirky and inventive Romance Was Born who brought to life a runway show inspired by Marvel superheroes and Annie Lennox. Makeup artist Natasha Severino used a turquoise block colour on the eyelid with a slight wing, beautiful fluffy lashes, a plastic eyebrow and a bold red lip. MBFWA is on until the 4^th of May, we can’t wait to see the Ellery, Akira and Fernando Frisoni runway shows!
